Available Brotha for 2010

My new you resolution is to stop swooning over "unavailable" brothas, especially straight one's. I find it so non-beneficial and emotionally draining. It could be blocking that ONE for you from entering (ahem) your life. It will be hard (ahem). There are countless blogs with beautiful pics of "straight" identified brothas that are married or dating woman and so many of us get all hot and bothered- WHY? They are un-available. I have seen so many blogs posts with these fine men posing with or kissing their ladies and still we crush on them. Yeah, I know it is just a fantasy but I will focus and comment on the single & availbale one's. Just my pennies worth.

You're completely right. I never looked at it that way. I think I'll add this as my resolution also.
Great Post

Who hasn't been there?! I know exactly how you feel. But maybe we dont really want the ones we can have?

Hi Langston, maybe I do see your point. But maybe it is just about fantasy because there are so few gay black men out of the closet in pop culture? I admit I post pics of Kobe Bryant on my blog he is hot! I know I will never get Kobe or Dwayne Johnson but hey they are hot. Maybe, another issue a more serious issue, is the fact so few black gay men stars are out of the closet in pop culture. I like Ru Paul but I don't have fantasies about her or Little Richard!

You guys all have valid points. I mean you can't help who you are attracted to. I just mean, once I recognize they are unavailable I move onto a new crush that's all. :)

I think the reason some of us like the pictures of black straight men in pop culture is beacause these men are attractive. Of course, I know that Usher or Kanye West are not gay. I am not famous so I'm not going to meet them anyway. But hey, it is also fantasy, and I think these guys are hot. I think it is okay to look at these sexy black men in pop culture and say they are attractive. I don't see anything wrong with it.
The real question is why are there so few black gay men in pop culture? Why are we so invisible?
